The Collective Works Of

Danny Martin

My mother was a portrait artist, and she taught me so patiently. My father was the gentle lesson in craftsmanship. There was nothing the man couldn't do. He wrote songs, painted cars, and was the soft-spoken voice of diplomacy. Their influence is evident in all I endeavor. Before long, I was filling sketchbooks with comic book heroes, celebrities, and anything else that challenged me. But every boy's gotta breathe. And movies were oxygen. I watched them over and over, studied the posters, wrote my own stories, and dreamed of telling them from behind the camera.

But my road to Hollywood would take a different path. Advertising, illustration, and graphic design became the foundation. Filmmaking would come later.

And as they do, dreams rarely travel in straight lines. They take detours, and every one of them has something to teach. One of mine was becoming a father. The greatest joy of my life. Every project you'll see here represents a different chapter of my life. Some were commissioned. Some were simply for the joy of creating. But all were personal. It always is. Every success, every setback, and every lesson learned pushed me toward the next idea. Even today, I'm still asking myself, "How can I make that better?"

More than a portfolio, everything you'll see here, from the earliest sketches to the films and stories I'm still working to bring to life, exists for one reason.

Art is oxygen... so we can breathe.

But There Was Always Another Canvas.

From the Prismacolor portrait of Christ above, Thou Art Forgive, one of my most recognized works with prints finding homes around the world, I learned to capture emotion, expression, and the subtle details that bring a subject to life. That same artistic foundation soon expanded beyond paper and canvas.

It found its way onto cars, trucks, and trailers, transforming ordinary vehicles into rolling works of art through custom wrap design. Each project presented a new challenge, blending illustration, branding, and large-format production into a single moving canvas.

My desire to explore new mediums eventually led me to abstract oil painting. Free from realism, these works became an opportunity to express emotion through color, texture, and movement, reaffirming that every new medium offers another way to tell a story.

And some things are just black and white.

Inspired by the legendary work of Frank Frazetta, Neal Adams, and John Buscema, I spent countless hours throughout high school challenging myself to recreate the illustrations I admired most. Those studies, along with celebrity portraits, personal sketches, and commissioned artwork, became the foundation of my artistic growth and a lifelong pursuit of excellence.

...and sometimes you make your own movies.

Movies were never just entertainment to me. They were where art and storytelling came together. I spent countless hours studying movie posters, not because I wanted to design posters, but because I wanted to make the movies behind them. Creating the artwork was exciting, but creating the story was always the real dream. These posters represent just a few of the films I've written and still hope to bring to the screen.
